I Have A Kindle Now. But I Won't Read A Book On It. Discuss. - John Battelle's Searchblog:

I’m a big fan of John’s writing and his post about the Kindle is good one. I absolutely love mine and won’t be going back to physical books (for the most part). He makes some great points about the spontaneous conversations you can strike up by being able to see what books people are reading. I gotta say though, I’ve probably had more as a Kindle owner. And when I see someone with a Kindle, I’m not afraid to ask what they’re reading. I would go so far as to say it’s a bigger conversation starter to have one than not. “The library problem,” is a factor for me, but if I can live without displaying my music collection for all the world to see, I think I can get over having my collection of books on display too.
